Production Group Lead - Plymouth , MN

Job Description:

Pro Staff has teamed with a leading Medical Manufacturer in the Plymouth are to add a Group Lead to their growing production team! In this role, you will be responsible for providing daily direction to a 5-10 person team as well as assisting the Supervisor with employee training/coaching and enforcing company policy and procedures. This is a long term, contract-to-hire position on the 2nd Shift (3:00pm-1:00am) team. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist shift supervisor in following and enforcing company policies and procedures.  Assist supervisor as needed in coaching and disciplining employees.
Provide work direction to production workers in the absence of a supervisor.
Knowledgeable at writing and ability to ECO procedures.
Cross trained and knowledgeable in all areas of the department. Ability to work and fill in as a replacement any member of production lines.
Oversees raw materials and production supplies. Works with materials to maintain raw material levels.  Also does vendor searches and works with outside vendors to find the best possible product at the best possible price.
Verify batch records to ensure they are correct.
Aid in the set up of the production line between batches.
Must follow strict GMP guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
High school education or equivalent and ability to perform multiple tasks. 
Must be able to positively demonstrate the knowledge, skills and the abilities of an area resident expert and operate as a role model in the Solutions department
Ability to write legibly, read and speak English, and perform basic math functions
Must be able and willing to follow written manufacturing and quality procedures to the letter.  Must be able to operate a forklift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job requires lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling boxes or containers weighing up to 50 lbs frequently.
Must be able to walk, stand climb stairs and ladders, bend and reach frequently.  Requires frequent twisting and turning of the body and the use of both hands in the preparation and batching of product.
