Job Description:

Direct Hire Opportunity for a Junior to Mid Level Front End Web Developer

Our client has some strong roots planted here in Chicago and they are looking to add a Front End Developer with 2-3 years of experience to join their development team.  In this role you will tap into your skills as it relates to the following:

CMS: You will develop new templates in the CMS, Joomla, such a new home page, landing page – creating new templates built in the CMS.  Wireframes will be provided an you will work off of those wireframes to make the new pages.  HTML and CSS coding knowledge/experience will be required.  

Modules:   You will research plugins that will be relevant within the Joomla libraries or updating the existing ones.    Modules will be used for online forms that you will upload to the site.  It is crucial that you understand and know how to adopt the module, change the code, adjust it and make it display properly. 

API Experience:   It is imperative that you have the ability to understand how to use an API as well as understand the logic behind the API. Our client  wants to improve the search functionality of their site and make it more efficient for the user. 

eCommerce Experience: Our client is comprised of over 20 websites most of which are eCommerce based.  Because of this, some shopping cart, retail or ecommerce experience is required. 

A/B Testing:  A/B testing is a also a priority. Our client is seeking someone who can help them test and code.   One will need to help them code something in Optimizely or any A/B test tool.   This is not something one can get out of box, so coding skills will be required.  Our client is big into testing iterations before they go live.  

CRM: Eventually they would prefer this person work with their web agency to tie things in with Salesforece or a similar CRM. This is a “would like to have” on the list of priorities and they feel if they find someone malleable enough, they could expand this skill and work with their agency on that. 

What we will need to see from you:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a FED role
  • Development samples should be mobile-friendly (responsive) and show the ability to manipulate the CMS to make the templates the correct way.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HTML, PHP, CSS, & JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, and other JavaScript frameworks
  • Use of Optimizely or A/B test tool
  • CRM experience a PLUS!!
